Amman, Dec. 15 (Petra) – The Regional Center for Space Science and Technology Education for Western Asia / United Nations (RCSSTEWA) held its 2025 Board of Trustees meeting in Amman on Monday.

The session was chaired by Hisham Khraisat, with the Director General, Mu’ammar Kamil Haddadin, and representatives from member states including the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Lebanon, Egypt, and Yemen.

During the meeting, the Board reviewed the Center's strategy, work priorities, and administrative and financial reports, alongside follow-ups on key programs and activities. Discussions also focused on the Board’s role in supporting institutional initiatives and enhancing joint Arab cooperation in space science and technology.

Haddadin highlighted the Center's efforts in supporting technical and scientific programs and its commitment to strengthening cooperation with regional and international partners to advance scientific research, training, and services in space and astronomy.

The Board approved several resolutions, including the draft budget for 2026, the final budgets for 2024 and the first half of 2025, the extension of Khraisat’s term as Chairperson, and recommendations to bolster partnerships with academic institutions in member states to implement joint training programs aligned with themes approved by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs.
